Severn Trent Community Fund supports Newcastle-Staffs Foodbank

Newcastle-Staffs Foodbank has been awarded £18,726 from the Severn Trent Community Fund to keep vital services running. 

The grant was awarded as part of the Core Funding programme designed to support the essential work of organisations out in the communities Severn Trent serves. 

The funding will help cover the running costs of our warehouse in Knutton for the next 12 months, ensuring the foodbank can continue to keep six distribution centres topped up with food to support those who can’t afford the cost of life’s essentials.

Unlike project-based grants, core funding provides stability for charities, allowing them to focus on what matters most — supporting their communities. 

Newcastle-Staffs Foodbank, based in Brock Way, has been serving the community since 2012. With six distribution centres covering the length and breadth of Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough, the warehouse is the lynchpin to its operations. Every day the base acts as a central point of contact for our army of volunteers and enables our team to co-ordinate supplies so that anyone who visits our centres can access emergency food parcels.
